Vintage pink wedding

At last I could use my new mold... and it is gorgeous!! And how lucky was I when the bride chose this cake for her wedding. She was inspired by a Bella wedding cake.

So I made some matching cupcakes with blossoms and "I do" labels. I have seen this idea by Tracy and thought it was lovely.. And I have made my first peony on wire and think it turnes out quite nice.

Hope you like it!

White and Black Wedding Cake

Well it is something different than what I normally do ..I have not used round cakes and no pink! But suprisingly I am very pleased with this white, black and red wedding cake.
The bride was really a fan of a Zoe Clark wedding cake but without the pink en the cake had to be square.

I worked on this cake together with a friend and we had so much fun! Every step further on the cake we were more pleased.. and this is the result!

Hope you like it

More ruffles!

Well I already told you that I really love ruffles.. and when I saw this buttercream Ruffle Cake .. I just had to try it! So in my free weekend I baked a 6 inch dark Choclate Cake with the recipe of Sweetapolita... This chocolate is so delightful and moist! It is just the best chocolate cake ever.. Then I made the meringuebuttercream and piped it on the cake.. And didn't it turned out cute!?

Old fashion rose

Yes! It was time for my workshop by Alan Dunn at Ellens Creative Cakes.

I was fortunate enough to partcipate the workshop on Saturday while it was actually on Friday. It was so great that he took the time for Nadine and me while he had another workshop that day. We have learned so much! And oh my I had no idea dat one rose could take so much time! But the result is beautiful.. This rose is made from cold porselain instead of sugarpaste because it will be less fragile..

And we had so much fun! My colours are a little bit unusual..peach and black.. that is why we named it the kinky rose ;)  the black looks a little bit like leather..

Hope you like it!

My cakes in Mjam!Taart Magazine

Finally there it was in my mailbox! My cakes are published in the Dutch cake magazine Mjam!Taart. They asked me a little while ago to create someting new.. I choose the theme Mary Antoinette.. so it had to be sweet.. include ribbons, lace, cameos, jewelery and a little hat.

Hope you like it!

Little blue bow cake

A little while ago I saw a pink swag cake.. And I loved the idea of the swags! I made it blue en put on bows in de end and piped on little dots. The cake was for my dad to share it ons his floor in his apparement building. Hope you like it!

Ivory and Lace Wedding Cake

For friends I could make this Ivory and lace wedding cake! She only told me she would like the cake to be ivory and the rest I could choose myself.. and I love that! So i put on little dots an used real lace to give it a chique vintage feeling. On top the tea rose..

Here the cake on location

Pink Blossoms

Finally there they were.. my new stencils! A little while ago I ordered these BlossomTree designer stencils by Ellen.. I had a little trouble choosing the colour but i think it turned out very cute. And the little cup and saucer are Royal Albert that I have bought in London!

Finally it was time for London baby!

Last weekend Nadine and I went to London for a shopping trip. Of course we had to shop for new cake stuff and we have found to much! (says my Harrods card)

On friday morning our trip began from Germany to Brussels and with the Eurostar from Brussels to London. We arrived around 14.00 at our hotel.

After unpacking we went to Peggy Porschens Cake Parlour for a late tea with the lovely Monica . On the way we came along a Starbucks (one of the many we would see) where Nadine had to buy her England and London Mug :)

For such a long time we wanted to visit the parlour and we finally did! This pink building in a fine neighboorhoud looked so cute, also the inside was all pink and white, she has lovely white seats outside and yummy cakes and tea! Unfortunality Peggy wasn't there.. We would have loved to see her too.

After visiting Peggy Porschen, it was time for our cake stand-search. (We will make a picture of our new cake stuff!)

On saturday a new day of shopping started. After a delay (had the wrong adress of a shop and lost about 3 hours.....) we also visited Harrods, where we had an ice tea and macarons at Ladurée.

For diner we had tapas at a local Mexican restaurant, it was sooooo good.

We were very tiered after two longs days walking through the city and our feet were killing us......
At sunday, we only had a few hours left. After a breakfast at Starbucks (hmm, sandwiches with caramel frappuchino), we visited Piccadilly Circus and a few clothing stores.

They also had taxis in our favorite colour :D

The weekend was great, lots of shopping & laughing. We are already planning a trip for 2012 :D

Peach and Pink

Yes i love these two colours.. they are my favorite. This is a cake that i have made just to try out some new things. This is only a little sneek peek because i have not finished it yet.

I have used lace, a new stencil, designer stencil victorian crochet, and a tool that looks like i did some  stitching in the cake. Hope you like it!

A little peek of my china

Of course next to the cake stands here a little peek of my china! This is a small part of my two boards which are filled with old and new china .. I love to go to stores where they sell used things and look for vintages things.
